Dr. Naomi Mathers is the Industry Liaison Engineer at the ANU Advanced
Instrumentation and Technology Centre (AITC), a new national facility in
Canberra Australia for the development of advanced instruments for
astronomy and the assembly, test and integration of space-based
instruments and small spacecraft. She has a degree and a PhD in Aerospace
Engineering and is an active member of the Australian space industry.
Before joining the ANU, Naomi was a Program Developer at the Victorian
Space Science Education Centre (VSSEC).
Naomi was a member of the Australian Government Space Industry Innovation
Council that advised the government on the development of the recently
announced Australian Satellite Utilisation Policy. She is also a member of
the Engineers Australia National Committee for Space Engineering,
Vice-Chair of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) Space
Education and Outreach Committee, and represents Australia on the Asia
Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF) Space Utilisation Working
Group. Naomi has represented Australia on the APRSAF Space Education and
Awareness Working Group, and the International Space Education Board
(ISEB).
